A beautiful afternoon at McMillan Farms, capturing the love and connection between a mother and daughter surrounded by fields of sunflowers. We loved slowing down, playing with the light and letting the beauty of the setting become part of their story. It was such a joy to be part of this little piece of summer in our Kelowna community.
Among the Sunflowers
We had so much fun experimenting with focused lighting and the atmospheric glow of sunset during this shoot with Nika, a local model and tattoo artist, for her Maxim Magazine modelling contest. The changing light gave us so many opportunities to play with mood, shadows and colour, creating images that felt a little dramatic, a little dreamy, and completely unique to the evening.

What happens when two photographers get together and one of us has to step in front of the camera? A lot of experimenting, laughing and trying things we might not normally do! It was such a fun experience photographing my friend and fellow photographer Chris, who studied photography right here in Kelowna. I loved getting to share ideas, play with different approaches and see our local photography community from both sides of the lens.
